Treatment Preparation Guide
A short, practical checklist for the days either side of your appointment. Your physician will confirm anything specific to you at your consultation.
Three days before
- Stop over-the-counter anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen or aspirin-based painkillers.
- Never stop prescribed medication without speaking to the doctor who prescribed it.
- Keep alcohol light and aim for full nights of sleep.
The 24 hours before
- Drink plenty of water — well-hydrated patients have a far easier blood draw.
- Eat normally; do not fast before your appointment.
- Avoid strenuous exercise the evening before.
On the day
- Arrive at your allocated time — arrivals are staggered for privacy.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
- Bring a list of any medication you take.
- Allow up to 90 minutes in total, including anaesthetic time.
Afterwards
- Resume ordinary daily activity straight away; you can drive yourself home.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and hot tubs for 48 hours.
- Contact us if you notice anything that concerns you.
- Attend your follow-up review so progress can be measured properly.
